How do I place an order?
Browse our Homecoming Collections and photo galleries to find the style and size that best fits what you're looking for. You can place your order directly through the product page by selecting Order Online.
Need a little help deciding? Send us a message on social media or reach out through our website contact page. We're happy to help guide you toward the right mum or garter before you order.
How far in advance should I order?
As early as possible! We accept a limited number of orders for each homecoming date and may close a date once our production schedule is full.
Orders must be placed at least 7 days before your homecoming date. Orders submitted with fewer than 7 days remaining will be refunded unless rush availability has been discussed and approved in advance.
During homecoming season, current availability and approaching deadlines will frequently be posted on our website and social media pages.
Do you accept rush orders?
Sometimes! Availability depends on our existing order queue, supplies, and the complexity of the design.
If your homecoming is less than 7 days away, please contact us before placing an order. If we can make a little homecoming magic happen, we will! Rush fees may apply.
When will I receive my mum or garter?
Orders are created according to homecoming date, while also taking into consideration the order in which they were received.
Our goal is to have your order ready approximately one week before your homecoming date. Your actual completion date may be slightly earlier or later depending on our production schedule, but your homecoming date is always taken into consideration when scheduling your order.
How does customization work?
Every Top Shelf mum and garter is individually handcrafted and customized for the student.
Depending on the collection selected, customization may include the student's name, school colors, mascot, grade, activities, sports, organizations, interests, jersey number, graduation year, quotes or Bible verses, and other personal details.
You'll provide your customization information when placing your order, and we'll use those details to create a cohesive design specifically for your student.
Can you recreate a mum from a photo?
Photos are always welcome for inspiration, including designs from our own galleries. However, because every piece is handcrafted and supplies vary throughout the season, no two mums will be exactly alike.
We will use your inspiration, requested colors, interests, and design preferences to create something uniquely yours rather than producing an exact duplicate.
Can I choose my colors?
Absolutely. Traditional school colors are always welcome, but Texas homecoming doesn't have to be traditional!
You may request nontraditional colors, senior white and silver or white and gold, pops of favorite colors, or other combinations. Specialty colors and materials may require an additional charge depending on availability.
What is included with my mum?
What's included depends on the collection you select. Each collection has been designed with a specific length, level of fullness, ribbon work, and included embellishments.
Please review the individual product description for exactly what is included with your selected design. Additional cutouts, upgraded bling, boutique bows, boas, lights, charms, and other enhancements may be available as add-ons.
What are cutouts?
Cutouts are the personalized decorative pieces throughout the mum that showcase the student and make the design uniquely theirs.
These can include names, mascots, sports, organizations, hobbies, jersey numbers, graduation years, school sayings, Bible verses, and other special details. Most of our collections include 5 personalized cutouts, with additional cutouts available as an upgrade.
Do you make mums for elementary and middle school students?
Yes! Homecoming tradition isn't just for high school.
We offer dedicated collections designed specifically for younger students:
Elementary: The Sweetheart & The Keepsake
Middle School: The Darling & The Signature
These designs are proportioned appropriately for younger students while still giving them the full Top Shelf homecoming experience.
Do you make freshman, sophomore and junior mums?
Yes! Our high school collections grow along with the student and the Texas homecoming tradition:
Freshman — The Debut: Waist length
Sophomore — The Rally: Thigh length
Junior — The Heritage: Knee to floor length
Senior year then steps into our Tradition, Heirloom & Legacy Collection.
Do you make senior mums?
Absolutely—and senior mums are some of our favorites to create.
Our Senior Collection offers three levels:
The Tradition — our classic senior design
The Heirloom — an elevated, fuller senior design
The Legacy — our most elaborate statement senior mum
Senior mums can be created in traditional white with silver or gold, or customized with other colors and details to reflect the student's personality.
Do you make homecoming garters?
Yes! Custom homecoming garters are available and can be personalized with school colors, names, numbers, sports, activities, interests, and other details just like our mums.
Do you only serve the Temple area?
Not at all! Top Shelf Mums Co. is based in the Temple/Central Texas area, but we serve customers throughout Texas and beyond.
Local pickup/delivery and shipping options are available depending on your location and homecoming date.
Do you ship homecoming mums?
Yes. Shipping is available for many of our designs.
Because mums can be large and dimensional, shipping costs vary based on the size of the finished piece and destination. Please order early when shipping is required so there is adequate time for both production and transit.
When is payment due?
Payment is due at checkout. Your order is not added to our production queue until payment has been received.
Multiple payment methods are available. Checks are not accepted.
Can I make changes after placing my order?
Please carefully review all names, spelling, colors, activities, numbers, and personalization before submitting your order.
Because materials are purchased and designs are planned according to the information submitted, changes are not guaranteed once an order has been placed. If you realize you've made an error, contact us as soon as possible and we'll let you know whether we're able to accommodate the change.
Additional charges may apply.
Can I cancel my order?
Because every mum and garter is custom-made specifically for one student, cancellations are handled on a case-by-case basis.
We will do our best to accommodate unforeseen cancellation requests made at least 10 days before the homecoming date. However, we work from a production queue and purchase materials specifically for each order. If work has already begun or supplies have been purchased, we may be unable to provide a full refund.
The final 10 days before homecoming are especially important to our creation process, so please order with your schedule in mind.
What happens if my homecoming date changes?
Contact us as soon as you learn about the change. We'll do everything reasonably possible to adjust your order within our production schedule.
I have a special request. Can you do it?
Ask us!
Custom themes, unusual color combinations, specialty embellishments, additional cutouts, lights, and other creative requests may be possible depending on our schedule and available materials.
